Special delivery……

Last week, I talked about preserving that amazing 9 month period when a mother is expecting a new addition to her family.  It’s only fitting that we talk about the fact that once that little bun in the oven is ready, the fun REALLY begins!  It truly is a blast watching a child grow from their first days of life to the point where they start smiling and making other facial expressions on to their first steps and first words.  The next thing you know, they’re off to school and then in the blink of an eye, they’re off to college.  Capturing all those priceless moments is one of the joys of being a parent.  I’ve been able to witness this from both sides of the fence.  In what now seems like an instant, I’ve watched my little one go from crawling to having sleepovers and hitting the double-digit age group!  On the flip side of that, my mom recently surprised me with a couple of scrapbooks that she put together that detailed my growing years far better than my memory ever could.  I think my jaw dropped closer to the floor with every turn of the page.  I had no clue that she had held on to those old pictures from my childhood, most of which, I completely forgot that they even existed!!  As my jaw dropped more and more, her delight grew and she knew she had hit that one out of the park.  After going through those scrapbooks, I realized that what she did is exactly why I do what I do.  That hard to describe feeling that overwhelms you as the images trigger a mental and emotional walk down memory lane is what I strive to create when given the task of preserving those moments that words just can’t recreate.  It doesn’t matter if your little one is 6 months, 6 years, or 16 years old.  Every moment is just as precious as the next.  If you’re interested in preserving your own moments, don’t hesitate to give me a shout.  I would be honored! 🙂
