This week, I’m going to hit you with a bit of REAL TALK. On the surface, this applies to photographers but it really applies to pretty much everybody. We all have people that we look up to for one reason or another. We see people on TV or hear about wealthy business owners and aspire to be like them. Sometimes, we aspire so much to be like them that we almost idolize them. As a photographer, there are other photographers that inspire me to improve my skill level and grow in my profession. The funny thing is, a lot…..and I mean a LOT….of the people that we idolize really aren’t any more special than we are. These people make the same mistakes that we, as amateurs do. I want you guys to read an article written by Lee Morris over at FStoppers.com. The article is called “The Photographers You Idolize Are No Better Than You”. I read this article often. Whenever I find myself in a funk or not happy with my work and need some inspiration, I reread it and it puts things into perspective. This article is written from a photographers standpoint but think about how this applies elsewhere. After reading this article, I’d like to know what you think so feel free to leave a comment. If you followed a link to this post from a social media platform, leave a comment there. I’d love to see how others feel about this. The article can be found here.
