This week, I wrapped up the pictures from AirVenture 2015. That event was such a blast to attend. If you have any interest in aviation whatsoever, it’s something you MUST experience. I could attempt to describe it until I’m blue in the face, but you have to witness it live to truly appreciate all that is going on. From the static displays, to the vendor exhibits, to the afternoon air show, there really is something for anybody and everybody to enjoy. You would be amazed by the conversations you’ll randomly overhear from pilots, and even POTENTIAL pilots. Last year, we ran into an 8 or 9-year-old who had already logged 30 or so hours as a pilot! This year, I stood and watched a P-51 Mustang pass me by a few feet as it taxied out to the runway. Those kinds of occurrences are the norm at this event. The air show was just as amazing. One of the acts featured a plane landing on a pickup truck and another featured a biplane powered by a prop AND a jet engine!! That thing was absolutely insane! If you don’t believe me, I have pictures of that plane below. With that being said, I highly suggest attending this event at least once. Honestly, if you want to experience all that AirVenture has to offer, you’ll need to attend it at least a couple of times because there is just way too much going on to take in during one visit. Get there early in the morning and just walk around and take in the vastness of your surroundings, then look up. You’ll be astonished by how busy the skies are. Those skies stay busy all day long so you’ll truly appreciate how that airport becomes the busiest in the world during AirVenture. Check out some of the pictures from the event below and check out the entire gallery here. Hope to see you there next year!
